小寒是冬季的第五个节气，天气逐渐进入一年中最冷的阶段。古人以“雁北乡、鹊始巢、雉始雊”记其物候。
民间有吃腊八粥前奏的冬味饮食、赏梅、注意防寒等习俗。“小寒大寒，滴水成冰”，提醒人们厚衣暖身。各地习俗不尽相同，以当地传承记录为准。
